Our Approach

In pursuing our mission to support the transformation towards a more responsible use and production of natural resources, we provide strategic initiatives that educate, build capacity, and foster dialogue among commodity experts along the whole value chain. We aim to create impact by promoting practical ESG implementation tools and mobilizing private capital, particularly for nature-based solutions.

Our pillars

Capacity building

We provide comprehensive insights into the functioning of natural resource markets from multiple viewpoints and perspectives.

We share valuable knowledge to help organisations adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Practical implementation tools

We provide a platform for commodity professionals to collaborate and deepen their understanding of best practices in sustainable standards.

We support them in interpreting and implementing guidelines, principles, and industry standards.

Private capital mobilization

We provide education on risks, opportunities and ESG benefits of investments in the natural resource markets.

We promote private capital mobilization in line with the achievement of the SDGs, the objectives of the Paris Agreement, and the advancement of biodiversity goals.

Our focus areas

Energy markets

Our work explores the evolving landscape of energy markets, with particular attention to renewable energies, the shifting geopolitical dynamics that influence global supply and demand, strategic energy investments, and the growing risks associated with stranded assets.

Metal markets

In the metals space, we focus on the critical role of transition metals in the energy transition, the development of energy storage technologies, and the creation of responsible gold supply chains. We also follow artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASM) initiatives that aim to raise environmental and social standards in the sector.

Agricultural markets

Our research in agricultural markets centers on global food security, the advancement of responsible investment standards in derivatives trading, and the promotion of low-carbon food production systems as a response to climate and sustainability challenges.

New markets

We also investigate emerging markets such as voluntary and mandatory carbon markets, the valuation and preservation of natural capital, the implementation of nature-based solutions, and the role of biodiversity in shaping new investment and policy frameworks.
